SUBJUNCTIVE MOOD (SIMPLE)

(The SUBJUNCTIVE occurs in the DEPENDENT CLAUSE of a sentence)

FUTURE SUBJUNCTIVE: NO DEFINITE FORM IN ENGLISH -- Present and Past Subjunctive and Conditional forms are employed to express Future Subjunctive (if I were to break, if I would/should break, if I may break, if I might break)

(3rd person plural preterit indicative = partiram - ram = parti + r/res/r/rmos/rdes/rem)

(eu) partiram - ram = parti + r = partir = (if I were to break, if I would/should break, if I may break, if I might break)

(p) (tu) partiram - ram = parti + res = partires = (if thou were to break, if thou would break, if thou may break, if thou might break)

(ele, ela, você, o senhor, a senhora, a senhorita) partiram - ram = parti +r = partir = (if he/she/you were to break, if he/she/you would break, if he/she/you may break, if he/she/you might break)

(nós) partiram - ram = parti + rmos = partirmos = (if we were to break, if we would/should break, if we may break, if we might break)

(p) (vós) partiram - ram = parti + rdes = partirdes = (if ye were to break, if ye would break, if ye may break, if ye might break)

(eles, elas, vocês, os senhores, as senhoras, as senhoritas) partiram - ram = parti + rem = partirem = (if they were to break, if they would break, if they may break, if they might break)
