Don't ruin your carefully crafted text with sloppy translation work. More than a few horror stories exist where well intentioned translations have simply run amok:

• Coca Cola wanted the Chinese to "come alive" with their product but a translation glitch offered them the opportunity to "meet your ancestors"
• A pen company used the slogan "it won't leak in your pocket and embarrass you" but a mistranslation made it read "it won't leak in your pocket and make you pregnant"
• A mistranslation of Coors' slogan "turn it loose," somehow offered beer drinkers the opportunity to "suffer from diarrhea"
• A Brazilian chair manufacturer thought their child's barber chair was well described in English as a "babyish stoll chair"
• Electrolux quickly pulled their English ads when someone suggested that the translation "nothing sucks like an Electrolux" might not be what they were after
