°Fahrenheit____°Celsius

°Celsius____°Fahrenheit

The Fahrenheit temperature scale (°F) was the first generally used temperature scale in the world. It was developed in the 18th century by G. Daniel Fahrenheit and, consequently, named after him. Fahrenheit set 32 as the freezing point of water and 212 as the boiling point of water. The Fahrenheit scale is still widely used in the United States while the rest of the world uses the (metric) Celsius scale.

The (metric) Celsius temperature scale (°C) is often referred to as the centigrade scale and can be defined as 'consisting of 100 degrees'. The Celsius scale was developed by Swedish astronomer Andres Celsius in the 18th century and, consequently, named after him. The Celsius scale consists of 100 degrees between the freezing point (0° C) and boiling point (100° C) of water. The name Celsius for this temperature scale was adopted in 1948 by an international conference of weights and measures.
