SUBJUNCTIVEMOOD (SIMPLE)

(The SUBJUNCTIVE occurs in the DEPENDENT CLAUSE of a sentence)

FUTURE SUBJUNCTIVE: NO DEFINITE FORM IN ENGLISH -- Present and Past Subjunctive and Conditional forms are employed to express Future Subjunctive (if I were to drink, if I should drink, if I may drink, if I might drink)

(3rd person plural preterit indicative = beberam - ram = bebe + r/res/r/rmos/rdes/rem

(eu) beberam - ram = bebe + r = beber = (if I were to drink, if I would/should drink, if I may drink, if I might drink)

(p) (tu) beberam - ram = bebe + res = beberes = (if thou were to drink, if thou would drink, if thou may drink, if thou might drink)

(ele, ela, você, o senhor, a senhora, a senhorita) beberam - ram = bebe +r = beber = (if he/she/you were to drink, if he/she/you would drink, if he/she/you may drink, if he/she/you might drink)

(b) (nós) beberam - ram = bebe + rmos = bebermos = (if we were to drink, if we would/should drink, if we may drink, if we might drink)

(p) (vós) beberam - ram = bebe + rdes = beberdes = (if ye were to drink, if ye would drink, if ye may drink, if ye might drink)

(eles, elas, vocês, os senhores, as senhoras, as senhoritas) beberam - ram = bebe +rem = beberem = (if they were to drink, if they would drink, if they may drink, if they might drink)
