Portuguese is one of the few (if not the only) language in the world where the weekdays are numbered instead of named. Unlike English, the name of the day (as well as the month) is usually not capitalized except when used alone, for example, on the title page of a newspaper.

Wednesday	quarta-feira (also just quarta or qua. is used as well as the abbreviation 4ª)
Thursday	quinta-feira (also just quinta or qui. is used as well as the abbreviation 5ª)
Friday	sexta-feira (also just sexta or sex. is used as well as the abbreviation 6ª)
Saturday	sábado (the abbreviation sab. or 7ª is also used)
